We hope you enjoyed today's activity!
Before you leave the computer room, please get your ESP32 ready for Friday's activity.
Method 1:
- Download a zip file with the Arduino sketch for Friday here.
- In the File Browser, double click on the .zip file.
- Extract the files from the .zip folder
- Double click on the .ino file to open it in the Arduino IDE.
- Upload the sketch to your ESP32.
- Pack up your circuits kit and think about the next circuit you would like to create!
If Method 1 does not work, try Method 2
Method 2:
- Download the following 4 files to your computer: captive_portal.h, face_bitmaps.h, movement_sequences.h, and sesame-firmware-main.ino from this link: https://github.com/dorianborian/sesame-robot/tree/main/firmware (right click and choose "Save link as..."
- Open the File Browser..
- Double click on the ;zip file you just downloaded and extract the files.
- Double click on the file sesame-firmware-main.ino, which is probably in the Downloads folder on your computer.
- This should open the file in the Arduino IDE.
- Upload the file to your ESP32.
- Pack up your circuits kit and think about the next circuit you would like to create!
Your ESP32 microprocessor can have only one sketch at a time. If you remove this sketch and want to put it back on at home, before you follow the above directions, you need to install a few extra libraries. Here are the instructions:
In the Arduino IDE:
- Open the Library Manager: Open the Arduino IDE, navigate to the top menu, and go to Sketch → Include Library → Manage Libraries...
- Install Adafruit SSD1306: Type
SSD1306in the search bar. Look for Adafruit SSD1306 by Adafruit and click Install. - Install Adafruit GFX: Next, search for
Adafruit GFX. Locate Adafruit GFX Library by Adafruit and click Install. - Finally, Install Adafruit SSD1306. Search for Adafruit SSD1306 and click Install.
- Install ESP32Servo v3.0.9
